It all started with a conversation during "date-night" with my oldest daughter... "Dad, I think you ought to go to Italy, and I think you should bring me with you!" Once my laughter subsided, I asked, "What is all of this about?" She replied, "You're not getting any younger, so you should go now while you can still enjoy it! I work at a hotel, so I can get us good rates on lodging! Since I love to plan trips, I'll do all of the planning and research!" ... and about 3 or 4 other well thought out reasons. I told her, "You had me at, 'I'm not getting any younger,' so let's talk about this!" Five weeks later, we set out on an adventure of a lifetime -- a Father/Daughter trip across Italy! The gallery follows our timeline: We started our adventure in Venice, and from there took trains to Bologna, Lucca (with a side trip to Cinque Terre), Florence (which included a Vespa-ride out to the wine region of Chianti), and finally, Rome.
